The McGill University, Genome Quebec Innovation Centre, and the Bioinformatics lab at the Université du Québec à Montréal are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow in Machine Learning and Bioinformatics. Our goal is to apply machine learning/deep learning algorithms to improve the prediction performance of existing methods used in screening technologies. The topics of interests include, but are not limited to:
1) Prediction of hits and bioactivities in HTS (High Throughput Screening), HCS (High Content Screening) and other screening technologies with increased levels of accuracy (see for example: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41563-019-0338-z);
2) Prediction of off-target mutations in CRISPR genes (see for example: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6129261).
We offer a very competitive salary and benefits package.
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in bioinformatics, computer science, statistics, mathematics or related areas with an expertise in machine learning (for up to 5 years after receiving the doctoral degree). Candidates with a PhD in biology, or related disciplines, with a computational and machine learning expertise, are also encouraged to apply. Strong analytical and programming skills are highly desirable.
