<div><strong>Starting date:&nbsp;</strong>The postdoc can start between Sept 2018 and March 2019, at the convenience of the applicant. Applications will be considered until the position has been filled, up to February 2019.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Job description:&nbsp;</strong>A postdoctoral position in computational biophysics / molecular modeling is opened. This position is for a period of 12 months, renewable for 12 months upon tacit agreement, starting as soon as possible. The position is focused on the development of innovative computational tools for modeling protein &ndash; nucleic acids assemblies. One main focus will be the development of combinatorial representations of protein shape variability, to be implemented in macromolecular docking tools developed in the team [NAR_2016, PloS_2016]. These tools will be applied to large macro-molecular complexes involved in transmission of bacterial resistance, in the context of a collaborative project with experimental biologist (DynAMic, UL &ndash; INRA, Nancy).</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Working environment:&nbsp;</strong>The CAPSID research group develops computational tools for data mining on macromolecular assemblies and 3D modeling of those assemblies. We are part of an informatics-mathematics lab (LORIA), and have several collaborations with experimental biology teams.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Funding:&nbsp;</strong>The position is funded through the Lorraine University of Excellence initiative and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The gross salary is 2,500 &euro; per month.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Eligibility:&nbsp;</strong>Candidates must have a PhD degree in computer science, (bio-)physics, bio-informatics or structural biology. Strong programming skills (preferentially Python) are required. Skills in discrete mathematics, statistics and/or knowledge of molecular structures are very desirable.
