Description

This PhD research subject aims at developing a computational model for human embryonic development, based on single-cell transcriptomic data, which quantifies the gene expression at different states of development of the human embryo. The computational model is preferred to be a logic program that combines this experimental data with biological networks of gene regulation. The model, however, is to be defined through this thesis research and it can evolve. The objective of this research effort is (1) to understand human embryonic development, in order to improve current clinical outcome in infertility treatments, and (2) challenge logic programming solvers, with single-cell transcriptomic data over a developmental notion of time.
