For our site in Toulouse, France, we have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and professional :

Bioinformatics Senior Scientist (M/F) - Permanent Contract

To join our Bioinformatics group to lead a team of 4 bioinformatics scientists dedicated to mass-spectrometry based proteomics and biomarker discovery and contribute to our collaborative drug discovery projects.

Missions and responsibilities :

• Manage a team of 4 bioinformaticians

•Lead research and development of novel algorithms and tools for quality control, analysis and visualization of proteomics data

• Support project teams in analyzing large scale proteomics data sets

• Work with researchers in interdisciplinary project teams to explain the results of your analysis and give advice on experimental design

• Coordinate needs, workload and resources in the analysis of proteomics data

• Participate to customer meetings Knowledge, skills and abilities :

• Leadership skills

• Enthusiasm for visual analytics and data science

• Experience in the analysis of mass-spectrometry based proteomics or other omics data • Knowledge of databases (i.e. pathway databases) and experience with high-performance computing environments

• Fluent in at least two programming languages, e.g. R/R-Shiny and Python

• Scientific rigor and excellent analytical and synthetic capabilities.

• Dynamic personality with passion for innovation and problem-solving and a willingness to apply core areas of knowledge to new areas of interest to Evotec and its clients

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the initiative to actively communicate with data producers and data users in an interdisciplinary environment

• Fluent English

Experience and education :

• PhD in bioinformatics, mathematics, computer science, or related field

• Experience in proteomics is a plus

• Previous experience in management

• Proven track record in data science, machine-learning, computational life science, computer science, computational biology/chemistry, mathematics, or statistics
