Bioanalyst, ATAC-seq, epigenetics vaccin immunology NGS

Engineer Bioanalyst for the analysis of “Epigenetic changes in trained immunity”

Laboratory for Epigenetics & Environment, CEA-CNRGH, Evry, CDD 6 months

For a project analyzing the changes in chromatin accessibility in sorted cell populations following vaccination of non-human primates (trained immunity), the Laboratory for Epigenetics and Environment, led by Dr Jorg Tost, at the CEA – Centre National de Recherche en Génomique Humaine is recruiting a bioinformatician/bioanalyst. Cells of the innate immune system are capable of immune memory, called trained immunity. Hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPC) undergo metabolic, epigenetic, and transcriptomic modifications. BCG, a canonical inducer, provides protection from all-cause mortality, protects against experimental challenges and potentiates responses to subsequent vaccines through trained monocytes with enhanced antimicrobial functions upon unrelated stimulation. Future vaccines could utilize trained immunity. In the framework of this project, the candidate will analyze the available ATAC-seq data, identify regions with differential accessibility and genomic and gene regulatory features enriched in these regions. The candidate with also integrate the results data from additional experimental types including mass cytometry, transcriptomics.

The National Center for Research on Human Genomics (CNRGH in French) is located in the French Genopole, in Evry, near Paris. This research center is involved in major national and international research projects to study complex diseases according to different biological views (genetic, transcriptomic, epigenetics, ...) using high-throughput technologies (high density microarrays, NGS). The important flow of the biological data produced in the center implies automated data processing pipelines and the application of complex and integrative bioinformatics methods. The laboratory for Epigenetics and Environment is involved in the development and application of technologies to analyse DNA methylation and other epigenetic modifications at high resolution at target loci and genome-wide as well as the development of bioinformatic tools for the processing of such data. The main focus of the Epigenetics group has been the analysis of DNA methylation and miRNA patterns implicated in immune-related diseases.
