Description
Junior Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Biology (2026)
We are looking for highly motivated early-career postdoctoral scientists willing to conduct
independent research in computational biology at Nantes University in France.
Nantes University has recently launched ambitious research programs aimed at consolidating
research in two key thematic areas: health and engineering. One of these programs, SysMics
(Towards Systems medicine based on multi-oMics), is a transdisciplinary initiative at the
intersection of biomedicine and digital sciences. The programme aims to develop translational
research based on the integration of multi-omics data.
In this context, we are seeking to attract talented young international researchers who are
interested in developing new computational frameworks for interpreting multi-omics data in
relation to cardiovascular, immune-related, tumoral or developmental diseases.
Under the supervision of SysMics scientific leaders, we expect junior postdoctoral fellows to
develop their own research projects while acquiring additional academic skills through
dedicated advice and support. The selected candidates will therefore benefit from an
excellent scientific environment – including funding and interdisciplinary mentoring - to help
them develop an independent research career at an international level.
We are committed to promoting gender equality and diversity, and to providing an enjoyable
working environment within a multicultural, dynamic academic setting.
Research position
Initial duration of the junior postdoctoral fellowship contract: 2 years
Gross monthly salary (0-2 years seniority following PhD) from EUR 3,000
Starting package from EUR 10,000 to EUR 20,000 per year
Applicants will be encouraged to apply for complementary external funding (e.g., MSCA
or EMBO fellowships) in parallel to/following their recruitment process.
