Description
The contract aims at continuing the development of SulfAtlas (http://abims.sb-roscoff.fr/sulfatlas), a database recently selected for the IFB (Institut Français de Bioinformatique) / Elixir-Fr Service Delivery Plan (https://bio.tools/sulfatlas). The mission includes one main axis : (i) extension of the SulfAtlas database (Barbeyron et al, 2016, Plos One, 11:e0164846), a database dedicated to the classification of sulfatases, to include HMM based classification method and results. This will include (i-1) development of a bioinformatics pipeline for the semi-automatic update of SulfAtlas. This pipeline will be notably based on HMM profiles already developed in collaboration with the LABGeM team (Genoscope); and (i-2) the development of new components on the front-end to manage the HMM classification data and submissions of new sequences to the classifier. The engineer will be co-supervised by the Marine Glycobiology group (Gurvan Michel & Tristan Barbeyron) and the ABIMS bioinformatics platform (Erwan Corre & Mark Hoebeke). The person contracted to this position will be employed in the context of the investment expenditure program IDEALG (http://www.idealg.ueb.eu/, grant agreement No. ANR-10-BTBR-04) and the H2020 GENIALG project (https://genialgproject.eu/ No 727892).
