Description

The Bordeaux Population Health (BPH) Research Center, from the University of Bordeaux and the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) offers a 1-year (renewable) position for a post-doctoral researcher in bioinformatics to work on deciphering noncoding RNAs involved the cardiovascular system. The candidate will work under the supervision of Dr David-Alexandre Trégouët (Inserm research director in statistical genetics & molecular epidemiology).

The project will include:

1/ implementing and/or developing bioinformatics pipeline for non coding RNA seq data;

2/ performing differential expression analyses to identify non coding RNAs involved in heart failure pathophysiology;

3/ exploiting additional high-throughput biological data (eg proteomics) to functionally identified candidate non coding RNAs

Opportunities will be available to expand the work to other cardiovascular biomarkers . This position is linked to the European ERA-PerMed LVAD-Strat project on personalized medicine for heart failure patients.

The candidate will benefit from close interactions with the groups of Dr Oliver Schilling (Institute of Surgical Pathology, Medical Center, University of Freiburg, Germany) and Dr Marie-Louise Bang (Institute of Genetic and Biomedical Research (IRGB) – Milan, Italy)
