Description

The team of Reini Luco at the IGH in Montpellier (south of France) is looking for a motivated computational biologist with background in transcriptomics analysis for data mining of bulk and single-cell RNA-seq.

The aim of the project is to study how early disseminating tumor cells remodel liver’s microenvironment to create a pre-metastatic niche in colorectal cancer. By looking at differences in single-cell gene expression and alternative splicing, we are expecting to identify unsuspected novel target genes to impair metastasis. Knowledge in analyzing epigenomics data, and performing DNA and RNA motifs search analysis will be welcome.

Luco’s team has expertise in identifying key splicing events (and its splicing regulators) in a variety of cellular systems (Agirre et al., Nature Communications 2021 and Villemin et al, BMC Biology 2021). Thanks to a collaboration with the cancer expert Julie Pannequin (from our next door institute, the IGF), we will be able to access unique data from an early disseminated mice model of colorectal cancer.

The contract will start in Autumn 2021 and it is for 11 months with possibilities of extension.
