Description

Job description summary

The research group of Dr. Eliane Piaggio (INSERM U932, Paris, France) is seeking a degree-qualified computational scientist. The bioinformatician will be dedicated to work on several projects in the frame of fundamental and translational immunology research projects regarding neoantigen epitope prediction, CD8+ and CD4+ T convs and Tregs cell biology and anti-tumor responses. This will require analysis of large datasets generated from single cell RNASeq associated with TCRSeq, single cell ATACSeq, whole exome sequencing and bulk expression studies. The candidate will have to supervise the work of other junior bio-informaticians. The initial contract is for 3 years.

Context

Projects will be developped under the supervision of Dr. Eliane Piaggio leading the team "Translational Immunotherapy" (https://science.curie.fr/recherche/biologie-interactive-des-tumeurs-immunologie-environnement/immunite-et-cancer/equipe-piaggio-loirat/).

The team encompasses: 2 postdocs, 3 PhD students (including one bioinformatician), 1 technician and 4 engineers (including a bioinformatician and a project manager). The team generates large datasets such as bulk and single cell transcriptomics.

The group is part of a 130-person immunology department headed by Ana-Maria Lennon. The lab is located within the Institut Curie campus in the center of Paris. The building is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities (imaging, proteomic, animal facility, genomic and cytometry platforms). The institute hosts around 1500 bench scientists including many foreign students and post-doctoral fellows.

Profile

Candidates will have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, mathematics, computer science or related field. She/he should have demonstrated success in a previous research experience in immunology-applied bioinformatics and statistics testified by publications.

Knowledge in approaches for high-throughput data analysis, statistical modeling and classification as well as some knowledge in immunology are required.

Strong motivation, autonomy and ability to quickly and effectively adapt to new projects will be essential.

Good proficiency in English is mandatory.
