The Role
- Bioinformatician / Biostatistician
- Analysis of data from MS-based Peptidomics and Proteomics experiments
- Member of the Proteomics team, closely collaborating with the Data Science and Biology teams
- Contributes to internal science projects and to commercial product development
- Facilitate high-throughput data analysis of mass spectrometry experiments
- Contribute to method development in the Proteomics group
- New position to reinforce a team of bioanalytical and computational scientists
- Work place located in Dublin, remote work during COVID-19 pandemic
Responsibilities
- Use statistical and data science methods to perform analysis of large experimental data sets from MS-based proteomics and peptidomics
- Translate requests/needs from the wet laboratories into mathematical, programming or data visualisation solutions
- Help constantly develop and maintain a high-throughput real-time proteomics data processing pipeline and other automated data analysis systems
- Report and present results at Proteomics group, project team and company level using diverse data visualization and presentation tools About You

Requirements
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Statistics, Life Sciences or related quantitative field
- Experience with peptidomics experiments and data analysis and familiarity with peptide identification software (PEAKS, Mascot, MaxQuant, etc.)
- Experience with statistical, data visualisation, coding and programming good practices
- Experience with a programming language for statistical analyses (R or Python) • Acquaintance with mass spectrometry and other protein/peptide analytical methods
- Acquaintance with SQL and/or NoSQL database technologies
- Acquaintance with Linux and container technologies
- Experience with peptides from plants or non-reference species would be a plus
- Ability to collaborate with scientists and non-scientists
- Ability to prepare results for internal reports and scientific publications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects
