Description
The Mathematics and Algorithms for Systems Biology group in the Marseille Institute of Mathematics (I2M) and the Networks and Systems Biology for Diseases group in the Marseille Medical Genetics Unit (MMG) have an open position for a Postdoctoral fellow.
Project
The project aims to develop novel methodological strategies to analyze and integrate large-scale biological data. The methods will be based on graph theory, dimensionality reductions, matrix factorization, and/or auto-encoders. The applications will be in the context of rare genetic diseases, and the candidate will have the opportunity to handle a large variety of in-house omics data.
Environment
The successful applicant will work in an interdisciplinary team of biomathematicians and computational biologists. The project will be developed in the context of the CAMUDI ANR project, which involves collaborations between the genetic, mathematics, and the computer sciences institutes of Marseille.
Qualifications
-
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Computational Biology, or related fields.
-
Experience in the design and implementation of algorithms applied to the analysis of multi-dimensional data or large-scale networks
-
A previous experience in the use and development of R/Python packages for biological -omics data analysis would be an asset
-
Strong analytical and communication skills are essential
