Description

The ICAGEN team (Integrated CAncer GENomics) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist interested in deciphering drug resistance mechanisms in multiple myeloma.

The CRCI2NA is one of the biggest French institutions for cancer research, located in the beautiful city of Nantes. This is an exciting place to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, with multiple platforms including state-of-the-art single-cell and sequencing facilities.

The ICAGEN team uses cutting-edge (epi)genomic technologies to explore the molecular mechanisms of disease progression and drug resistance in multiple myeloma (MM). In close collaboration with the Hematology department of CHU Nantes, we analyze patients enrolled in clinical trials evaluating innovative treatments, with a particular focus on immunotherapies.

The successful candidate will lead an ambitious project aiming at exploring the (epi)genomic determinants of MM progression. S/He will integrate multi-omic data (including whole genome sequencing, single-cell RNA-seq and single-cell ATAC-seq) to unravel the interplay between clonal evolution and phenotypic plasticity in drug resistance.

Integrating genomic and single-cell profiles to reconstruct clonal & phenotypic evolution

Responsibilities

  • Lead a scientific project focused on MM progression and resistance
  • Perform end-to-end data analysis (QC, processing, normalization, visualization, interpretation, etc)
  • Develop innovative computational methods to integrate whole genome sequencing and single-cell Multiome data
  • Participate actively to hypothesis generation, data interpretation and writing papers.

Experience / Skills

  • PhD in bioinformatics, statistics, or computer science with knowledge and interest in biology (or the reverse!)
  • Experience working in a Unix environment and statistical analysis using R
  • Experience with genomic / single-cell data analysis would be a significant asset
  • Understanding of cancer cell biology is an asset as well as experience of collaboration with biologists and clinicians for solving concrete biological problems

Contract start date: flexible, as soon as we find the right person. This position will remain open until filled. We are reviewing applications as they are received so candidates are encouraged to submit their application as soon as possible.
