About the Role

Applications are sought for a Tissue Bank Data Scientist to lead on development of health informatics system of the Operational Centre (OC) in the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund Tissue Bank. The successful applicant will have solid understanding and supporting of clinical terminology and classifications such as SNOMED CT, ICD and HPO. The research will be based within Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London. The post is full time and until December 2024. Salary will be £36,348 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.

About You

Essential requirements for this post include extensive experience in clinical data management within an NHS or health research setting. Solid understanding and supporting of clinical terminology and classifications such as SNOMED CT, ICD and HPO are key. Experience with clinical research data management system e.g., REDCap is essential. Experience with Python programming language and a web framework, preferably Django, are essential. Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL / MariaDB) and front-end web development: html, CSS and JavaScript is essential. The Barts Cancer Institute requires that applicants invited for interview provide all certificates to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description). Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
