Description
Offer Description
Have you ever wondered why humans struggle to control parasite infections and what exactly happens in our bodies during these infections? Our research team, led by Professors Thomas Otto and Antoine Claessens, is at the forefront of unraveling these mysteries. We generate diverse data from biological systems, including images, spatial information, temporal data, and sequencing information. We collaborate on ongoing projects focused on host-parasite interactions, involving different parasites such as Plasmodium, Trypanosoma, and other apicomplexans, in diverse hosts including humans, mice, and birds.
Main mission:
As a key member of our team, your project will involve developing computational methods to:
• Integrate spatial and single-cell transcriptomics sequencing data.
• Integrate images with single-cell transcriptomics sequencing data.
• Implement a web server to visualize integrated data, based on cellxgene/paraCell
Depending on the funding situation, there might be an option to extend the position for further 2 years.
Main project: Building methods for multimodal dataset integration and implementation of software to visualise biological data.
