Description

A full-time bio-informatics/bio-analysis position at the level of research assistant (“engineer”) or post-
doctorate, is available in the « Molecular Regulation of Cancer Immunity » team of the Cancer
Research Center of Lyon, France. The team studies the NF-kappaB family of transcription factors in
immune response to cancer.

Research project

Understanding the molecular mechanisms orchestrating adaptive immune responses to cancer is of
utmost interest to identify novel therapeutic strategies. Our team has identified NF-kappaB as an apex
regulator of immune escape in T-lymphocytes subsets (Grinberg-Bleyer Cell 2017, Lalle J Exp Med
2024, Voisin Frontiers Immunol 2024). The current project aims at understanding the regulation of
immune escape by NF-kB, in melanoma and pancreatic cancer. The candidate will leverage multi-
omics data (bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics and CUT&RUN) to decipher the
contribution of NF-kB subunits to immune escape and response to therapy, and highlight therapeutic
targets.

Scientific environment

The CRCL provides resources to conduct cutting edge collaborative research, outstanding intellectual
environments and state-of-the-art facilities. Our team is composed of 8-10 members working
collaboratively. Bio-informatics analyses will be developed jointly with the Gilles Thomas Bio-
informatics platform at CRCL. The candidate will present her/his work at the weekly lab meeting and
monthly seminars of the department. The candidate will be directly supervised by the PI (YGB) and is
expected to train students.

Applicant profile

The candidate must hold a Master degree, an engineer diploma or a Ph.D. (or be about to graduate)
in immunology, oncology and/or bio-informatics.

Recommended skills

Hands-on experience with high-throughput sequencing datasets is required.
Proficiency in R and/or Python for data analysis and visualisation
Enthusiasm for multi-omics integration approaches (e.g. MOFA)
Familiarity with exploratory data analysis (e.g. PCA, MCA, clustering, UMAP)
Comfort with Linux/bash and HPC environments would be appreciated

Contract

We offer a 18-months position; salary follows the INSERM grid based on experience. The candidate
is expected to look actively for funding opportunities. Starting date: late 2025/early 2026.

Contact

Candidates should email their CV, cover letter, and the names and contacts of two referees, to
Yenkel.grinberg-bleyer@lyon.unicancer.fr. Selected profiles will be invited for an on-site interview.
