The position
A bioinformatics/cancer genomics position (engineer or post-doc) is available in the group of Dr.Gabriel Matos Rodrigues funded by the ATIP-Avenir co-sponsored by la Ligue contre le cancer at the Genome Integrity and Cancers Unit (UMR 9019) - Gustave Roussy Institute, located just outside of Paris city center.

The Genome Dynamics and Stability group headed by Dr. Gabriel Matos Rodrigues is part of the Genome Integrity and Cancers Unit, an international and stimulating environment that hosts multiple ATIP-Avenir as well as established research groups led by senior researchers. The unit is located at Gustave Roussy Institute, the Leading Cancer Centre in Europe and the top oncology hospital outside the United States.
Main Project
One of the main goals of the Matos-Rodrigues laboratory is to understand the mechanisms that control DNA repeat (in)stability. In this project, we are interested in exploring the link between genome instability and alternative DNA structures. The project involves the analysis of genome instability using short and long-read whole genome sequencing and functional genomics techniques like ChIP-seq, RNA-seq EdU-seq, END-seq and S1-ENDseq. The project will be developed in close collaboration with Dr. Patricia Kannouche (Gustave Roussy Institute).
What we expect
The post-doc or engineer will run already established pipelines of analysis and develop new pipelines using the Gustave Roussy computation cluster (Flamingo). We expect the candidate to analyze large cohorts/experimental samples and organize large datasets, as well as have experience in coding in python and R. We welcome applications from highly motivated and dynamic individuals. The candidate should have proficiency in English, good communication skills, and a desire to work in a group.
What we offer
Initial funding is offered for a 12-months in a renewable contract. The salary depends on seniority, following the standard Gustave Roussy grading.
