Description
As a Master Trainee in our Bioinformatics & Data Analytics group, your primary task will involve benchmarking software utilized for metagenomic data analysis.
In collaboration with other teams, you will be involved in testing the appropriate pipelines for metagenomics data analyses, accommodating both short and long read sequencing technologies to ensure comprehensive and accurate results. This cross-functional approach will enhance the integration of diverse expertise and facilitate innovative solutions in bacterial genomics.
We offer a dynamic, inclusive, and international working environment with many opportunities across different companies, functions, and regions. Don’t miss the opportunity to join us and work with different teams in an agile and diverse context.
Day in the Life of a R&D Master Trainee in Bioinformatics:
• Perform literature review and selection of software for shotgun metagenomics bacterial genome data processing.
• Test and benchmark software for shotgun metagenomics data processing.
• Develop scripts for pipeline automation (e.g. Bash, R, Python, awk).
• Document the work done to ensure traceability and reproducibility of the tasks following internal standards.
• Present work reports to stakeholders (microbiologists, project managers).
What will make you successful:
• Good knowledge of microbial genomics followed by a specialization in bioinformatics.
• Understanding of Next Generation Sequencing technologies.
• Good programing knowledge with scripting languages (e.g. R, Python, awk) and Unix environment.
• Good written and oral communication in English (French is an asset).
Show us your motivation to join an international and interdisciplinary environment. Your strong communication skills and willingness to learn is what will set you apart from the other candidates. If you are a team player and you are passionate about making a difference then apply in English by sending your C.V. and motivation letter by e-mail to Caroline.Barretto@rdls.nestle.com with the subject “Master trainee in bioinformatics”.
