Description

Engineer in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology

Project Title: Precision Processing of Cancer Genomic & Transcriptomic Data

We are looking for a highly skilled Bioinformatics Engineer to contribute to a collaborative project aimed at modeling cancer using integrative patient data for novel precision medicine therapies. This critical role supports our research into damage-induced mutagenesis and the genetic mechanisms underlying hypermutation and DNA repair deficiencies.

Your crucial tasks:

Perform initial genomic analyses: process sequencing files, execute quality control, and generate essential mutation and copy number alteration lists.
Develop and implement components for cancer NGS data analysis, specifically focusing on genomic DNA and RNA applications.
Create and implement tools for accurate somatic variant detection from DNA sequencing.
Maintain and update our pipelines and genomic databases.
Implement tools for mutational signature analysis, copy number, and structural variant detection.
We’re looking for: A candidate with a strong background in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or Biostatistics. You must have experience with standard genomics software (BWA, GATK, SAMTools) and experience in genomic analysis of NGS-based DNA or RNA assays. Proficiency in developing bioinformatics pipelines and tools for NGS is required. Experience in cancer genomics, cancer genomics software (e.g., Mutect2, FACETS, MANTIS), and familiarity with cancer databases (Cosmic, TCGA, PCAWG, HARTWIG) are strong advantages.
