Description

Job description : Applications are invited for a joint postdoctoral position with Dr. Liming Liang, Professor at the Harvard School of Public Health, and Dr. Michael Cho, Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and the Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a major teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School and part of Mass General Brigham.
The position is part of an ongoing R01-funded project that aims at deciphering the genetic and genomics underlying COPD heterogeneity. It uses an unprecedented collection of blood and lung transcriptomic and proteomic data, along with new metabolomics data, and a far-ranging collection of individual-level genetic datasets including COPDGene, Trans-Omics in Precision Medicine (TOPMed), the International COPD Genetics Consortium, the UK Biobank, Mass General Brigham Biobank, and AllOfUs.
The selected candidate will lead the development and evaluation of multi-trait GWAS approaches to decipher pleiotropic structure underlying COPD genetics. It will built upon extended preliminary work conducted the past year by the team. Key data have already been cleaned and preprocessed and can be used immediately. It is a highly collaborative project and the candidate will interact in particular with genetic epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and computational science engineers.

Qualifications : PhD in Statistical Genetics, Biostatistics, Genetic Epidemiology or equivalent domain. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background and experience in genetic data analysis.

Additional information : We are an equal opportunity employer that strongly values diversity, equity and inclusion, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy and pregnancy-related condition or any other characteristic protected by law.

Candidature

Procédure : Qualified candidates should submit their resume, the names of two references, and a cover letter to Dr. Liming Liang (LLIANG@hsph.harvard.edu) and Dr. Michael Cho (michael.cho@channing.harvard.edu). Promising candidates will be invited for interviews and a presentation. Funding for this position is available immediately, but start time is flexible.
