AI Bioinformatics Cancer Data

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join an interdisciplinary research team working on an innovative project aimed at improving breast cancer detection.

Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers worldwide, and early detection is critical for improving patient outcomes. However, current screening approaches, such as mammography, still face important limitations.

This project aims to transform breast cancer detection by integrating multiple sources of data, including medical imaging, digital pathology, spatial transcriptomics, and clinical information. Advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches will be developed to build predictive models capable of improving diagnosis and patient stratification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement AI and machine learning models
  • Analyze imaging, molecular, and clinical datasets
  • Contribute to the development and validation of predictive models
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, biologists, and data scientists
  • Produce reproducible computational analyses and workflows
  • Participate in scientific publications and conference presentations

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong programming skills (Python, R, or equivalent)
  • Experience in data analysis and statistical modeling

Preferred

  • Experience with medical imaging analysis
  • Knowledge of deep learning and artificial intelligence methods
  • Experience with multi-omics data analysis
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing environments
