Missions
This position focusses on the biological data analysis side of an innovative therapeutic approach for pediatric cancers by reprogramming tumor cells into mature, non-proliferative neuronal cells. The project focuses on neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer characterized by strong developmental plasticity and it aims to decipher the molecular mechanisms underlying tumor cell reprogramming and differentiation. It combines cutting-edge technologies in single-cell genomics, epigenetics, and computational biology. Experimental studies will investigate how reprogrammed tumor cells interact with the nervous system during disease progression. The postdoc will analyze multiple datasets using innovative computational biology tools. The project brings together experts in cancer biology, reprogramming, epigenetics, and systems biology within a highly collaborative environment.

Required skills
The candidate must be proficient with current bioinformatics practices in single cell data analysis, have a good understanding of fundamental cellular biology and a solid basis of computational biology. Proficiency with Unix bash and python (or advanced R) are required. Above all the candidate should have a strong desire to learn new methods and dive deep into biological data. The selected candidate should also be able to carry out research independently, to work collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment and should be fluent in written and oral scientific English. Knowledge of French is not necessary for the project.
Work environment
The post-doctoral research will take place in the department of computational biology , working very closely with “KidsCan – Kids and cancer Neuroscience” and “reprogramming, stem cells and oncogenesis” teams in Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie de Lyon (CRCL). The center is a highly competitive cancer research center in France, totaling 600 members across 24 teams, affiliated with CNRS, INSERM, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and the Léon Berard Comprehensive Cancer Centre (CLB) and is ideally located in Lyon, 2h away from Marseille, Paris and Alps mountains.
