Description
M2 internship: Decipher the cellular heterogeneity and developmental origins of infratentorial ATRT
The Genomic and Development of Childhood lab (https://institut-curie.org/team/saulnier) headed by Olivier Saulnier is looking for an M2 intern for 6 month internship in bioinformatics.
Background
Atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumors (ATRT) are rare, highly aggressive tumors of the central nervous system, driven by SMARCB1 inactivation. They arise in young children and originate early in development from immature embryonic cells, affecting distinct regions of the brain. Different subgroups of ATRT have been described, displaying molecular heterogeneity that suggests distinct embryonic origins.
Objectives
Our team works with single-cell and spatial data of ATRT samples, as well as normal embryonic development datasets to study the spatio-temporal origins of this tumor. The candidate will process normal in house and public datasets (single cell and spatial transcriptomics) of brain development to create an atlas and will use different manual and automatic methods to map the ATRT dataset on this atlas.
