The SFBI particularly encourages events organized by and/or for young bioinformaticians in the community.

Support may be used to organize or award prizes for events such as :

Please note: the GDR BIMMM is not intended to provide support for events supported by the SFBI or the IFB (eligibility criteria for GDR BIM grants). Consequently, if you have already received a grant agreement specifically from the GDR-BIMMM, your SFBI grant application will not be considered. This only applies to the GDR-BIMMM.

What does this grant cover?

The grant will cover all costs associated with organizing the event, except for investment and staff costs. Each item of expense must be justified.

How much is the grant?

The maximum amount of support is €500. For national events with international guests or international events, support may exceed €500 to help with guest travel costs.

Before and during the event

A request for support must be completed and saved in PDF format with the name ‘nom_prenom_evenementSFBI.pdf’ via this form and then sent by email to contact@sfbi.fr.

The event organizers undertake to follow the charter of good conduct.

For the duration of the event, the SFBI logo must appear on all communication media (flyers, emails, programme, etc.). For the prizes, a member of the jury must be appointed by SFBI.

What happens next?

Applicants must submit an activity report within three months of the event. This report should summarize the organization and the scientific added value, and should be accompanied by a financial statement and supporting documents. Please note: after this three-month period, the grant will lapse. The SFBI encourages the productions made during these events to be made public to the whole community and that the SFBI be mentioned in the acknowledgements.

Allocation and timetable ?

Applications for support are accepted throughout the year. Each request will be studied by a committee of the board, and a response will be returned within 1 month.
