Childcare grant application
For the first time this year, the SFBI is offering grants to enable its members to arrange childcare so that their children can attend scientific events (conferences, training courses) in the field of bioinformatics in France and abroad.
Who can apply?
A member of the SFBI who wishes to attend a bioinformatics conference, in France or abroad, and who is responsible for a child requiring care during the conference. The care may be provided at the member’s residence or at the conference location.
If the awardee presents their work during the conference, they agree to display the SFBI logo in the acknowledgments. The following text may be added: “This work was supported by a grant from the Société Française de Bioinformatique.”
What is the value of the grant?
The childcare scholarship awarded by SFBI is up to a maximum of €500.
What expenses does the grant cover?
This grant covers only the costs related to childcare during the conference (including travel costs if the care is provided at the residence).
How does it work?
Applications for grants must be sent to the SFBI (contact@sfbi.fr) before the event. Please complete this application form and save it in PDF format with the name ‘nom_prenom_bourseSFBI.pdf’.
The grant will be paid to the beneficiary, not to their laboratory, after the conference, upon presentation of receipts.
By accepting the grant, you agree to submit a maximum of a two-page report within three months following the conference, along with the following documents:
- invoices related to childcare,
- a report on the benefits you gained from participating in the event via this form.
Beyond the three-month period, the grant will be considered void.
Please note that this grant cannot be combined with other scholarships for the same event.
Allocation and timetable ?
Applications for support are accepted throughout the year. Each request will be studied by a committee of the board, and a response will be returned within 1 month.
