As part of these faculty recruitments, Ecole Polytechnique invites applications in the area of Modeling of Living Systems. The successful candidate is expected to conduct original research in modeling of living systems. Topics of particular interest include but are not limited to physics-based models of biological phenomena, and statistical and/or stochastic models of living systems.
Depending on his/her academic background, the successful candidate will have his/her primary faculty appointment in the Department of Applied Mathematics, Department of Computer Science, or the Department of Mechanics, with a possible secondary appointment in one of the other two departments. The successful candidate is expected to teach disciplinary courses in his/her home department at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and to develop specialty courses in his/her research area, and he/she is expected to develop an independent research program on the Palaiseau campus.

A competitive startup package consisting of support for a PhD student and an installation grant will be proposed. The salary is based on the École Polytechnique salary scale and is commensurate with the candidate’s experience. The candidate is expected to apply for competitive national and international grants to complement the startup package. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed during Spring 2025, and the expected start date is Fall 2025.
